October

Quite a bit has happened since Chris and I have begun our life together as and moved to Texas. I was going to write about things sooner but I started school and got really busy, so hopefully I can catch whoever may be interested, up on my married life adventures and it won't be too boring.

First off, Chris started work at USAA. He really likes it there and is now on its soccer team. His games are every Wednesday and I enjoy going to them. I especially enjoy his later games because it isn't so hot out!

Chris started biking to work and really enjoys that. We both started working out everyday, eating healthier and we stopped drinking soda. Giving up soda is sometimes hard for me, espeically when we go to church picnics and there packs and packs of free soda calling my name. Water is fine, I guess. But we both have been doing really well. I can't wait to get a gym membership to get back into doing Zumba! I miss it. Chris and I are going to run a 5k at Chris' work in November. In preparation I have been running a 5k on the treadmill 1 or 2 times a week (I wanna beat Chris, well that's my goal anyways). I'm excited for that. Hope it cools down a bit by then! It's still in the 80's and 90's here. I'm always wearing shorts and capris. I want to wear my sweaters and boots! Haha.
I started BYU-I online on September 15th. At first it was weird adjusting to the online program, but I feel like I got the hang of it now. I have a routine of waking up, working out (after I eat breakfast and watch an episode of the office of course) and then spending the rest of my day with school. I try and do this all week so I don't have to do any homework on the weekends, which is super nice.
Chris' birthday was October 3rd. He got the day off so I had an entire day of fun planned for him and we had a great time together. We saw  TMNT in the theaters, went to Barnes and Nobles and ate at  Buffalo Wild Wings. And to top it all off, Resses Blizzard Ice Cream Cake from DQ. He said he had a great Birthday. I remember his birthday last year. I knew it was his birthday and I wanted to make him a treat or something and bring it over to him, but I didn't want him to think that I liked him or something. Amazing at what can happen in a year, isn't it :)
The cake was very yummy :)
Chris and I went to Six Flags a few Saturdays ago. The park was free and only open to USSA workers and their famililes. We had a fun day. Too bad it was raining. Of all days that it rains in Texas, it had to be that day. Oh, well. My favorite ride was probably the Scooby-Do ride. It was kind of like the Buzz Lightyear ride in Disneyland where you sit in this little car with a laser guns and shoot things to get points. We met up with some other couples that we are friends with and had a competion. I'm pretty sure I lost. I was a little dissapointed at how small Six Flags was. Granted, we didn't go into the waterpark portion of it, but I was hoping they had more rides and things to do. It really didn't help that it was raining. But it stopped raining just enough at the end that we still could go on the log ride :)

A few weeks ago we also went to the Japaneese Tea Gardens and the Alamo (although the Alamo was closed when we went). We also walked around the Riverwalk. Its really pretty down there and we walked around the shops, ate ice cream and went through the mirrior maze.

The Alamo. Texas has a pretty interestring history.

The temple here is really pretty. Best part about it is that it is only about 20 minutes away!
I like the blue :)

Last Monday we carved pumpkins for FHE. The next day the pumpkins were rotted already :( Oh, well. We also got to go to our ward Trunk or Treat. We had a fun time passing out candy to the kiddos and seeing their cute outfits. Plus, the chilli was super good! I've been using the decorations Grandma got me to decorate the house and the trunk of the car for Trunk or Treat. Thanks Grandma!

Us right before Trunk or Treat.

Spider cupcakes! Thanks Grandma for the cute decorations:)
Our car trunk during Trunk or Treat. The big spider is motion sensored and it light up and crawled down everytime someone passed by. Scared me everytime.

Happy Halloween everyone! Thanks for reading :)

  1. Great blog! I am so happy to hear you are happy and fitting right in. Don't you miss the rain? I thought you would have loved it even at Six Flags. I can't believe it is so hot there still. I guess no chance of a White Christmas for you there but thank goodness you will be HERE! Miss you!
